Who We Are

Robert Pieklo

Robert rejoined American Financial Resources in 2024, bringing with him extensive knowledge of the broker, correspondent, and retail channels. He previously oversaw lending and revenue management, capital markets, and strategy planning teams. He also managed his own mortgage brokerage firm. Rob has served on multiple committees with the Mortgage Bankers Association and is active in multiple industry trade groups.

Michael Brenning

Joining American Financial Resources in 2024, Michael is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to drive loan volume growth, managing a high-performing team, and cultivating a culture of excellence in sales productivity. Michael brings with him a proven track record as a team builder and catalyst for business growth. He received his BA from Hamline University and his MBA from Montreat College. Michael is also a proud member of many industry associations and affiliations.

Kimberly Perez

Kim Perez, Chief Financial Officer, brings a vast array of knowledge from the mortgage industry and beyond, including over 15 years of experience in C-suite roles within mortgage banking. She began her career in public accounting at PwC and has since held various financial roles, building her leadership and industry insight. Kim’s broad experience in finance and operations fuels her commitment to driving organizational success and innovation.

Corey Dubnoff

Corey is the Co-Founder of AFR and currently serves as the firm’s Chief Administration Officer, Executive Committee Member and the Corporate Secretary​.

In addition to the responsibility of being the company’s CAO, Corey is responsible for overseeing the departments of Retail Sales and Operations, Human Resources, Talent Management, Mortgage Insuring, Closing, Post Closing, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance.

Scott Dubnoff

Scott is Chief Technology Officer and manages the company’s Information Systems and Business Process Management departments​. Scott is a member of the Executive Committee and is the chairperson for AFR’s Technology Operating Committee​. He received a B.S. in Computer Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science​.

Holly Ryer

Holly Ryer, Interim Chief Compliance Officer, has been a dedicated member of the AFR family for 25 years. Holly brings experience from previous roles at AFR through the years, with a robust skill set that includes Retail Operations, Sales, Organizational Effectiveness, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition and Business Operations. Her extensive knowledge of our operations, commitment to our values, and exceptional organizational skills make her the ideal individual to serve in this critical role.

Brian Collins

Brian rejoined AFR in 2024 as a member of the Executive Board. In his current role, Brian is responsible for delivering best in class execution for American Financial Resources. In an environment where every basis point matters, Brian’s ability to optimize deliveries and maximize execution will allow for AFR to continue to pass through incredible pricing to their customers.

Bobbi MacPherson

Bobbi MacPherson joined AFR in 2024 as Head of Operations. With a wealth of experience from her leadership roles at both major lenders and smaller firms, Bobbi brings a well-rounded perspective to AFR. Her extensive background in Credit Policy and Operations equips her to drive excellence and efficiency across AFR’s operational functions.

Kayla Lopez

Kayla Lopez joined AFR in March of 2024 as the VP of Strategic Planning and quickly rose to become the Head of People. With a rich background in organizational and leadership development, Kayla has played a pivotal role in shaping AFR’s strategic growth. She has led efforts across marketing, business development, leadership development, and innovation teams, while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Her forward-thinking approach continues to drive the company’s success and enhance the experience for both employees and clients.
